SLIH looks a lot less than the 23 they had in the orchestra for Dolly, seems to be around 14-15

The Local 802 minimum at the Shubert is 18 musicians so there are probably 17 players + conductor.

In taking a closer look at the video, I count at least 17 + conductor (which, per the poster above, would satisfy the Shub minimum). But I can't tell if there's another row of strings on the far right side, and there's also a masked woman sitting on the left behind the keyboard but I can't tell if she's playing. Either way, this is a LUXURY for modern Broadway –– and we'll find out actual breakdown in 2 days!
The new musical comedy Some Like It Hot heats up tomorrow night at the Shubert Theatre, prior to a December 11 official opening. Based on the MGM motion picture of the same name, the tuner features music and lyrics by Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman, book by Matthew López and Amber Ruffin, and direction and choreography by Casey Nicholaw. The principal cast includes Christian Borle, J. Harrison Ghee, Adrianna Hicks, Kevin Del Aguila, NaTasha Yvette Williams, Adam Heller, and Mark Lotito.
“Set in Chicago when Prohibition has everyone thirsty for a little excitement, Some Like It Hot is the rollicking story of two musicians forced to flee the Windy City after witnessing a mob hit. With gangsters hot on their heels, they’re on the run as the newest members of the swingingest big band ever to cross the country. Can they hide in plain sight without completely losing themselves? Or will the mob, the truth, and maybe even love itself finally catch up to them?”
I’m really excited to hear the reviews from you guys. But I must say as much as I loved Tootsie (hated doubtfire) I’m kind of over the whole “Guy in a dress for comedy” storyline.

"A big juicy delight. Probably Shaiman & Wittman's best score, evocative of its period yet feeling fresh and smart. The adaptation works really well, reflecting today's sensibilities. Perfs all around are terrific, though I've got to single out Adrianna Hicks who you never want to leave the stage. I might quibble with the excessive tap choreography which director/choreographer Casey Nicholaw continually falls back upon rather than exploring more dance variations from the period. Some editing needed there. But it's a small criticism in a production which is constantly entertaining and ultimately really moving."
