Because of his crossover success in the world of opera, I wonder if he might be the right person to take on Candide. Of course, there's no version of the book that truly works, and it's not necessarily the most commercial title for a Broadway run, and the vocal demands prevent star casting.
I would love to see his takes on Nine, A Little Night Music, and Evita. And considering how great South Pacific and The King & I were, it would be exciting to see him take on all of R&H's big 5.
Beyond the realm of musicals, I know that when he was artistic director of the Intimaan, he did a lot of Chekhov. I would love to see him take on any of those plays, but especially The Seagull.
