Whatever the heck that was, most people probably won’t make the connection to BMC.
I thought George S was going to be in there with James. Hmmmm.....Fail.

That makes two of us. I was literally jumping up and down.
Loved the hosts in the batbroom!
Ok Bart Sher actually did look furious when Sam Mendes was announced as the winner.
Thoroughly confused what Hadestown is about.
Any fans of the show have an opinion on that performance and if it sold tickets?

What was the Be More Chill thing? You mean the bathroom song? That had a connection?

Really thought they were going with Way Down Hadestown or Road To Hell :/

I love Hadestown but I thought that was the wrong number to do. "Way Down Hadestown" would have been the bigger show-stopper.

I love Hadestown but I did not love that performance

I doubt that performance sold many tickets at all. Probably the most underwhelming performance of the night is going to be from the show that wins Best Musical.
What a hauntingly beautiful performance. I cannot wait to see Hadestown this summer.

It’s selling plenty of tickets already
Wouldn't have been the number I'd have chosen, either.

Michael in the Bathroom from BMC
I still think Why We Build the Wall or Way Down Hadestown would’ve worked better. Also, something feels horribly wrong about Patrick Page and Amber Gray being the only cast members to not utter a single word during that performance.

I was hoping they would somehow add Eva's part from Wait for me. I think When she sings it, it sounds much stronger.
Am I the only one who low-key wondered if Kevin Spacey would show up during the “James in the Bathroom” number?

I thought the Hadestown performance was stunningly beautiful, but I don't know if it was the showstopper that was needed for The Tonys.

Its the show stopper moment in the show but if you haven’t seen the show, it won’t make sense. Thinking of it that way helps understand why they picked that one. Or possibly they highlighted Reeve Carney since he didn’t get any Tony nominations when the other 4 did.

Gave me chills...80 days and counting.

Hadestown should have done either the opening number or Way Down. I’m not sure that performance is going to move the needle much for them. Though it may not matter considering all the awards they’ve won.
I enjoyed the BMC spoof because that’s the type of thing James does best. But I’d still like to see it performed by George Salazar.
let's remember reeve carney wasn't even nominated. Amber Grey, Patrick Page, and Eva should've been more featured for the performance, what a shame. I really hope they get best musical either way.

Um, considering how many victims of his are still active in the theater community....I would say yes, you are the only one. Yikes.
