I haven’t seen SUFFS, but I enjoyed that performance.

I love Suffs and am rooting for it tonight, but they did themselves no favor with that performance. “The March” would have been a much better choice. And the camerawork tonight is just atrocious.

Wrong song for Suffs. Out of place it is a slow piece with no action.

Do nominees have a general idea of when their category is going to be presented?

That suffs performance makes me glad I didn’t sit through 2.5 hours of that.

Shows that do one song in its entirety versus a medley always seem to have the most effective performances.

So interesting to read this thread alongside Deadline's liveblog, where they claim it's been a fantastic night of performances without a clunker in the bunch. (But would they really admit it if they didn't care for any?)

Strongly agree. The staging of Keep Marching is boring, but the song is thrilling. I enjoyed it.

I don’t know “The Outsiders”…never read the book or seen the movie and haven’t seen the musical but is there something in the story about Pony Boys hair? Why is his wig so awful? It’s so much hair!

Seriously, what is the deal with restaging all these numbers so the actors are singing to the camera with their backs to the audience? This is THEATER.

We're now 2.5 hours into the main broadcast and they've given out 10 awards. Maybe CBS should look into that as a reason why so many people don't watch this AWARDS show.

Outsiders didn’t increase my desire to buy tickets. It’s the only nominee I haven’t seen, either.

* still think Brody Grant deserves the tony. was thrown by the lack of "gravel" on the stage but they did their show proud--until they jumped into the fight scene which im sorry does not make any sense out of context? what was the thought process here? this should by all rights run a long time appealing to families and teens but im not sure this snippet of beautifully staged raw violence does that?
* i forgot to mention, but guys, very smart to have a NY Jets tackle on, for that important but overlooked crew of football/broadway fans. there are like 11 of us, and we are finally seen.
