The though of Danny Burstein as Herbie just filled my heart with joy.
But according to previous posts they are casting a white Herbie. Because there is a casting notice and there is a "concept", you know.
Danny would be a great Herbie. A boring choice. But he would be great.

There was definitely a casting notice calling for a white actor as Herbie. That doesn't guarantee anything, of course.

Are you missing a question mark?
That would be quite something considering how overqualified he is for the role, despite being close with Kirdahy and Wolfe. But weirder things have happened (such as choosing to do Photos From Home).
Not getting my hopes up but what a thrill it would be to see
AUDRA
NATHAN
GYPSY
on a marquee.

Yeah, ok.
New look at the Majestic renovation.
Looks stunning! Why’d they have to make the seats red? I liked the color better before. Let’s hope all those seats are full for Gypsy
I hear they’re auditioning drag queens for some of the strippers and also Lea delaria

They're auditioning drag queens to play Lea DeLaria??
Haha no but Lea delaria for a stripper and maybe a drag queen
I suggested Lea Delaria for Rose on post #185 of this thread!
Sure, she's maybe more suited for Mazeppa. But maybe she can be Audra's matinee alternate. (although Cynthia Erivo might not allow that...)
I wonder if Hailey Kilgore would return to Bway in this. She's been pretty successful since Once On This Island outside of theatre.
Yes, I think it will definitely be Hailey or Joy Woods who are both rising stars in their own right. Joy will have a tight turn around from Ragtime but it can work.
Nathan Lane? Lolz. Jesus. People make anything up these days.
Joy Wood as Louise would be amazing. She has all the right qualities for the role but her schedule with rehearsals for Ragtime would conflict with Gypsy rehearsals and Gypsy starts previews the week after Ragtime!
Happens all the time with many in demand actors like Sutton Foster that did this exact thing earlier this year so nope!

There is no alternate or matinee alternate. Audra was interviewed about her preparation so far and she said she is getting ready for the challenge of doing this role "8 times a week."

Keeping my fingers crossed for her, but " I'm getting ready for my train" doesn't necessarily mean I'll catch it.
No way! I give her 3 weeks and then that’s it

Denee Benton, Keke Palmer or Joy Woods as Louise and I am more than happy!

Unbelievably racist.

No disrespect, but she is 43 years old. Audra is 54. It simply wouldn't work. Nikki is a woman, not a young girl.
^Yet you'll suspend your disbelief that a 54 year old woman has 2 small children in the earlier timeline. Or that she breaks out in song in her everyday life. Or that Mr. Goldstone would let a black person on his stage.
