Editing the greatest book ever written for a musical is such an insane thought, but I don’t doubt revisions are happening. I like the small edit of cutting the “Small World” reprise in the Patti production, but even Laurents admitted it was only there for Merman to have a second act solo before Rose’s Turn.
"Oh look at the time, three more intelligent plays just closed and THE ADDAMS FAMILY made another million dollars" -Jackie Hoffman, Broadway.com Audience Awards
Laurents made some smart decisions over the years regarding the book (some cutting of the hotel room scene, the added dialogue during the strip), but overall, as people have said above, this is not a musical that needs revising by anyone else. If you want to use different versions of the libretto, sure. But I don't want anybody touching this perfectly crafted book!
This is really happening with Audra but I'm now hearing spring 2026 due to scheduling difficulties. Bryan Cranston is the current name being discussed for Herbie. Also a recent Grammy winner to make her Broadway debut as Louise. But all very hush hush at the moment.

Isn't Cranston doing Inherit The Wind alongside his former costar Giancarlo Esposito? That feels like a better use of his time, he's kind of overqualified for Herbie.

There's reports this is taking the Marquis theater, but if it's not arriving until 2026, then any reported theaters at this point don't matter.
A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

Now the reports I heard was that Stranger Things is reopening the Majestic.

I remember he’d been linked to Damn Yankees last winter/earlier this year.

He's been seemingly linked to that for like 10 years, which doesn't feel like a great part for Mr. Gravitas and is not a revival that anyone is begging for.

Sunday in the Park with George
It’s definitely more than a rumor at this point. There’s a site live (Hogan tried to dismiss the exact same type of password protected site for Appropriate before it announced its move to the Belasco) and Tom Kirdahy is producing. Just a matter of when and where it’s happening at this point. If it’s waiting til 2026, then I have more doubts that it’ll come to fruition. Audra of course said it was just a rumor when she can’t announce something publicly. This is not the first time a star has denied something that was in the works. It’s how PR works.
Right exactly. And let’s be serious, there are very few truly out of no where announcements without at least some idea of the info leaking beforehand these days. Though they do still happen from time to time and it’s thrilling when it’s actually an exciting production.
