Did it even recoup yet? All this whining...

Hey, they at least got a chance to stick it to The Music Man

I think it's definitely closing at a loss. According to the Times, it was capitalized at $21 million.

I was so pleasantly surprised by Beetlejuice. I didn't have high expectations but I really enjoyed it. The music was forgettable but Alex Brightman was just wonderful and the technical elements were impressive. It really defied death for quite awhile too to have a nice run for itself.

Any word on them filming it for HBOMax?

I hope we know what’s going in there next, so the fans can stalk the cast and production online with their insanity.

I saw this at the Winter Garden when it was in previews, and I thought it was pretty awful. Alex Brightman's performance was obnoxious beyond belief, and the whole show gave me a massive headache.

This one pleasantly surprised me too, largely because of Alex and the whole cast's charisma. I'm sure it's unlikely but would love to see him continue as BJ on the national tour that's starting in December.

No surprise whatsoever. Happy trails to all.

Up in the air. The recent merger with Discovery has halted a number of projects that were intended for HBOMax including this apparently.

Did anyone manage to get orchestra tickets for January 8th (7:30 PM)? I jumped on the minute this was announced and all the front rows of the orchestra were gone. Is it possible they will release these later?? Thanks!

As a devoted childhood fan of the movie, I was surprised that they changed SO much of the plot from the movie, but I also understood they needed to give the Lydia character more to do.
That said, the show was fun and goofy and had lots to look at lol. I feel like they won't be able to fully replicate much of the cool stuff on tour, like falling through the stage floor, etc.
The audience definitely ruined it for me though. Very obnoxious people all around me.

What other shows are currently in the danger zone of closing?

By flopping twice while the Music Man basically printed money?

Yeah, sure. The Music Man is laughing all the way to the bank.

Love Beetlejuice.
Love The Music Man.
Love Into the Woods.
I will be seeing all of these shows once more before they close. I know there has been much criticism of Beetlejuice, but it really is a fun show and Alex was great.

Do the TikTok Beetlejuice stans even still care about the show, or have they moved on already?!

Once Upon A One More Time will be taking that theatre.

I saw it in DC and it’s one of the most fun nights I’ve ever had at the theatre. Groundbreaking? No, but can see it being a hit. I enjoyed it 100% more than &Juliet

Flopping? Most likely, yes. Flopping twice? No. Anyone who thinks that is blatantly misremembering the sequence of events.

I think it did well and I loved Timbers direction. It felt like a great mashing of all his talents. Excited to see the tour.
as for Once Upon… I hope they overhauled the whole thing.
