Getting the Band Back Together doesn't start until the summer, if I'm not mistaken.
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?
These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.
Well holy crap. That’s pretty much the a current “it” list of openly gay young(er) actors. There’s a lot of talent in that cast and I’m excited to see a professional production of the show.
Missing Jesse Tyler Ferguson. And NPH. But I guess there were only so many guys in the band. This is bananas cast. Hope they film it. I'd have love Raul Esparza in this too but oh well!

RE: Why is that?
It doesn't exactly portray gay people in a positive light. I've only seen the film and read the play but it's very 60s stereotypical. Nonetheless, it is a part of gay history. It's a great cast and I'll be interested to see how Mantello will approach it.
Quinto feels more like a Michael, but I doubt Parsons could pull off Harold. OParsons seems to be the weak link. Then again, who knows? He might surprise as Michael.

For a second I did think this was getting the band back together.

I have no interest in seeing Jim Parsons. None at all. However, there is no way I would ever pass up the chance to see Matt live. Now I just have to figure out which show I am not seeing. My spring theater weekend already contact Angels in America, the Iceman and I was going to add Come From Away because I enjoyed it and the person I am going with will enjoy a short musical after the long plays we will be seeing. However we can only see 4 shows. I will probably get rid of one of the Angels in America events. I'm sure they are both good but selling the tickets will allow me to have the variety of Matt.

I think Parsons can pull this off with Mantello at the helm. For me, Quinto is the one I had second thoughts about but I am looking forward to see what he does with this role. I really enjoyed him in Glass Menagerie
Was hoping this would be at the Nederlander. I feel like the Booth is too small and therefore prices will be high, but curious to see this. I'm not super into anyone in the cast - it seems fairly obvious, and weird timing, but I'd see it.
Um....why does one's sexuality matter? If one is a good actor, their personal life doesn't make a bit of difference.
While I think it only matters so much, it's great to see LGBT actors take on LGBT roles. Sometimes "playing gay" can get iffy, and I guess it could go the other way around. It's just nice to see. :)

I would cry. Please, Theatre God."
This casting is already insane and if they added him, I would be so in. But I have a feeling he'll be busy shooting season 2 of Mindhunter around that time anyway.

Eye roll. Because this play can skew into stereotypes fairly easily if not done correctly. Seeing all gay men perform in one of the most iconic pieces of gay theater is a huge deal.
