This didn't occur recently, but my mom met Katherine Hepburn. We used to live next door to the Actor's Fund Home in Englewood, NJ, and Ms. Hepburn had been visiting some friends there. We had a bunch of firewood for sale in our front yard (from a tree that fell down in a storm), and Ms. Hepburn bought some of it!
It was amazing!
On the road of life, do not pause for suicidal chipmunks who freeze in your headlights, seeking death by your tires...
I forgot one...I saw Bebe Neuwirth in the post office on 14th Street a few months ago. She was with this really hot younger guy and they kept making out. It was so hard not to stare, not because they were making out, though, but because she's Bebe Neuwirth!
Brooke Sheilds sat behind my grandma during Rent...lol

"They're singing, "Happy Birthday"
You just wanna lay down and cry
Not just another birthday, it's 30/90
Why can't you stay 29
Hell, you still feel like you're 22
Turn 30 in 1990
Bang! You're dead, what can you do?"

Just remembered....I was at Chatterbox this past May and Jose Llana was the guest. Jay Reiss and Sara Saltzberg were there in the audience. Got to talk at length with Sarah and a bit with Jay. 2 extremely nice people. I seem to be drwan to this cast for some reason! I figure I will meet the rest of them when I am back in May!!! (For those of you who didn't read my 1st post, I met Jesse Tyler Ferguson at the Sweeney matinee on Nov. 16th)
Anthony Rapp walked by me last time I was in NYC, I was so stunned I just stood there, he kept walking. I still wish I would have said "Hi", but I guess it's better this way, he probably didn't wnat to be bothered anyways.

I was lost 'til I heard the drums, then I found my way
Years ago I sat in front of Phyllis Diller at Falsetto's.
Brooke Shields was a regular at this little bakery I worked at while she was doing Cabaret. She told me that the thought of doing the show made her sick to her stomach and that was how she knew she had to do it. After her run started she would not speak and only write notes to me. She and Chris Henchy would buy boxes of cupcakes for their cab drivers.

At DRS last year I met Jack O'Brien (this was still early in performances I believe), Idina and Taye. Taye waved to me when I was waiting at the stage door, I just about fainted and Idina looked over and smiled.
Two nights before that, Steve Bushemi and Dan Akroyd were two or three rows behind me at Spamalot.

"You never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view - until you climb into his skin and walk around in it."
To Kill A Mockingbird
I've seen Greg Jbara walking toward the DRS theatre four times now.
I ran into Mary Bond Davis on the street and had just seen Hairspray the week before. I actually stopped her and she was so excited to be recognized.
While at Hairspray stage door Lucy Liu came out & was followed by Steven Spielberg.
Frances Sternhagen, Judith Light, & Jonathan Jackson at Dedication or the stuff of dreams. Edie Falco & Lorraine Bracco at People are Living There. Anthony Rapp at Sides - at the Culture Project - he was there to support his boyfriend who I'm very angry to report is adorable. so there's no hope for me.
"It's very difficult to keep the line between the past and the present." - Ms. Beale
"Saw Mark Schoenfeld (Brooklyn Writer) walk through the wind tunnel under the Mariott today with a really hot girl...." It was probably the girl for his new show or the girl that is going on tour in Brooklyn as Faith.
"I never had theatre producers run after me. Some people want to make more Broadway shows out of movies. But Elliot and I aren't going to do Batman: The Musical." - Julie Taymor 1999
Gretchen already posted one of my favorites (Kate Reinders & Megan McGinnis at Chitty) but she didn't mention one of the funniest "sightings" ever.
Idina following us to the subway. No, not just casually walking behind us. You know what people walk so close behind you that you want to stop so they'll run into you? Yeah, that close. And we had just been to See What I Wanna See, so it was slightly awkward.
And running into Kelly Karbacz at Starbucks is one of my better moments -- but I don't really count that.
"The tick BOOM tick BOOM is so loud I can't hear the rain on the grass. I can't hear the wind. I'm about to scream. But I realize I'm not alone."
I could have sworn we had a more current thread on this topic but I couldn't find it searching so I'm reviving this one. I was wondering if anyone was at the matinee of Xanadu today because I could have sworn Carrie Underwood was sitting in the center section onstage. Or am I just crazy?
