I figured since People magazine has their annual tradition, we should name our own SMA for Broadway.
The criteria here, though, is that they must have appeared on Broadway (not off-Broadway or regional) within the last year (so, back to November 2023) and can include replacements.
I propose the follow nominees:
- Tom Francis (Sunset Boulevard)
- Conrad Ricamora (Oh Mary)
- Corey Cott (The Heart of Rock & Roll)
- Taurean Everett (Death Becomes Her)
- Raymond Baynard (The Great Gatsby)
- Brent Comer (The Outsiders)
- Ricky Ubeda (Illinoise)
- Brandon Victor Dixon (Hell’s Kitchen)
- Kit Connor (R&J)
- Jordan Fisher (Hadestown)
- Peter Gallagher (Left On Tenth) - The “Call Me Daddy” Lifetime Achievement Award

I don’t count Harcourt because CATS was off-Broadway.
If CATS was on Broadway…the list would be mostly that whole cast with Sydney being the grand champion of them all
