Last week, Ben posted that he was "getting off tweeter for a few months to get to work." Also, when he was Jimmy Kimmel's guest host on 8/19, he definitely looked like he's back down to his Evan weight.

In this interview, Ben says that he left today to begin filming in Georgia.

Interesting. He looks a lot younger when he has more weight on him.

Wow, you just joined today, and dropped a very helpful piece of info. So much for the "someone who only recently joined the board can't have anything relevant to say" argument that the haters like to use as they rake a newbie over the coals. Nice work!

Either way we'll have to buy it, if we're going to enjoy the movie.

Is it really safe to film at this point, with COVID still keeping most people in isolation?

Jordan Catalano said: "Yes, when following safety procedures. Tv and film have been back for some time now in various places and there’s been no word that any production has caused an outbreak. "
I also believe that some productions are doing some sort of isolated bubble situation, similar to what the NBA is doing, in order to keep things going.

I believe that’s what Diana is doing as well.

Apparently we're just forgetting about the boycott of filming in Georgia because those sweet sweet tax incentives compensate?

There’s still more filming in GA now (or before shutdown I should say) than in CA. It’s crazy. Does seem to be forgotten...
Wonder if they’re gonna do a live singing thing as most musicals have a period of studio pre-recording before shooting starts. As they’re still completing the cast I’d be surprised if tracks were already done. (UNLESS recording was done in secret and they’re just doling out the casting news to stay top of mind.)

I’m calling it now: Words Fail will be sung live, and they won’t shut up about it during Ben Platt’s Oscar campaign.

They don't necessarily need to have the entire score recorded before they start shooting. If I recall correctly, for Phantom they recorded piece meal throughout the filming process so they weren't locked into acting choices they had made well before shooting began (not that it necessarily made any difference to the performances we saw). It adds another layer of complication to the shooting schedule, but it can be done.

It's good to see they are keeping on brand by casting someone too old.
