Gurl.. you know I always enjoy you on here. But let us have our win. It is a win. We are all just starved for something thrilling and exciting on the stage. Which is what she gives.. and I don't care how she got there. And I have never watched Glee . She is phenomenal in this.

As always you continue to be the loveliest member here lol.
"You can't overrate Bernadette Peters. She is such a genius. There's a moment in "Too Many Mornings" and Bernadette doing 'I wore green the last time' - It's a voice that is just already given up - it is so sorrowful. Tragic. You can see from that moment the show is going to be headed into such dark territory and it hinges on this tiny throwaway moment of the voice." - Ben Brantley (2022)
"Bernadette's whole, stunning performance [as Rose in Gypsy] galvanized the actors capable of letting loose with her. Bernadette's Rose did take its rightful place, but too late, and unseen by too many who should have seen it" Arthur Laurents (2009)
"Sondheim's own favorite star performances? [Bernadette] Peters in ''Sunday in the Park,'' Lansbury in ''Sweeney Todd'' and ''obviously, Ethel was thrilling in 'Gypsy.'' Nytimes, 2000

I agree with you. I meant my post sincerely - Lea’s journey to the show IS a great story and I think they could and should make a documentary of it. This whole revival and the series of backstage and onstage twists and turns is the stuff of Broadway legends. And the hype and fandom is also really fun too. I’m genuinely surprised at some of the very visceral and over the top reactions in this thread (no doubt someone will find a way to try and stick a knife in me from this post lol). Trust me, I’m all good. I’m not trying to actually rain on Lea Michele or anyone’s parade for that matter.

It's quite comical.
Keep it up."
But they just want to have FUN. Aren't you the one always going on and on about how being spiteful and hateful of a leading lady is so much FUN? Why such a buzz-kill all of a sudden?

Posted on Lea's Insta. Now that's the kind of review that would have me looking up flights (j/k I'm already looking up flights) LOL! Tituss was out here catching the vapors!

Girl what are you babbling on about? I have never said that. Go ahead and pull up where I ever even posted that and show me receipts - I dare you.

binau - you never crossed my mind when I posted what I did. I don’t have a problem with you. I actually do like you so I was generally taken aback that you would think I was directed at you.
Lea Michele Receives Rave Reviews After ‘Funny Girl’ Debut: She’s What The Broadway Show ‘Needed’
The enthusiastic reviews come after Lea Michele received multiple standing ovations on her opening night. Read some of the top critics' responses here!
This is entirely a vindication for those of us who way back, pre-Beanie, complained when Bartlet Sher miscast Lauren Ambrose in the role and we said "Why isn't it Lea Michele?! It should ONLY be Lea Michele"!!

And you’ve never seen Ambrose perform the role in its entirety. If it is revelatory as her Eliza Doolittle, I would splurge in a heartbeat.

Ambrose would have been leagues better than Feldstein.
"There’s nothing quite like the power and the passion of Broadway music. "

One thing's for sure, Ambrose would have handled the score without a hitch.
Lauren is an impeccable actress with decades in the biz. She’s also a beautiful singer with training. Please don’t lump her in with Beanie.
"The sexual energy between the mother and son really concerns me!"-random woman behind me at Next to Normal
"I want to meet him after and bang him!"-random woman who exposed her breasts at Rock of Ages, referring to James Carpinello
Thank you, Betty. She is a trained opera singer who turned down a full scholarship at Julliard for Opera Studies. She is stunning, talented, and has a thrilling voice. Don't compare her to the other one.

I'm sure Finn, Puck and Santana are smiling down on her from the heavens.
Well...maybe not Santana..."
I'm a huge Gleek too, but bringing the pedo into this conversation is... not a good look.
