@Mr Wormwood - Your nominations seem mostly spot-on. There's a few performances that I feel could get in:

Tatianna Córdoba, Real Women Have Curves (Leading Actress in a Musical)

Jeb Brown, Dead Outlaw (Featured Actor in a Musical)

Taylor Trensch, Floyd Collins (Featured Actor in a Musical)

I also think one of the actresses from English will be nominated in Featured, either Marjan Neshat or Pooya Mohseni.

It seems like a lock that SUNSET BLVD will be nominated for Best Scenic Design, since along with set designer Soutra Gilmour, it will also include the video design element from Nathan Amzi and Joe Ransom.

Sunset's choreography should make the cut as well knocking out Gypsy, Pirates! or Boop.  Gypsy is the most bland (with the tap being created by the performer not the choreographer I hear).

I'm guessing Kara Young will get her fourth consecutive nomination for Purpose, but I'd really love to see Alena Arenas sneak into the Featured Actress category instead (or in addition to). She manages to do so much in two short scenes.

"You travel alone because other people are only there to remind you how much that hook hurts that we all bit down on. Wait for that one day we can bite free and get back out there in space where we belong, sail back over water, over skies, into space, the hook finally out of our mouths and we wander back out there in space spawning to other planets never to return hurrah to earth and we'll look back and can't even see these lives here anymore. Only the taste of blood to remind us we ever existed. The earth is small. We're gone. We're dead. We're safe." -John Guare, Landscape of the Body

I’m having a hard time with this until we know how they’re ruling on Pirates, Smash, John Proctor, and to some degree Dead Outlaw re: lead vs featured!

Is the assumption that Ramin and DHP will be lead and Jinkx featured, even though they’re all above the title? I think you could make a strong argument for all three being featured, frankly.

I haven’t seen Smash yet so don’t have a take on that one…

Sadie Sink is clearly marketed as the lead of JPITV because of her notoriety but that’s for sure an ensemble piece, so could go either way.

And to me Jeb Brown is equally a lead to Andrew Durand, though I’ve seen some people put both of them in featured!

Damn it’s an exciting year either way. The only thing I’m 100% confident about is that we will have multiple categories with more than 5 nominees. There’s just too much strong work this year.

I’m also having a hard time not including some of my personal underdog favorites (namely Boop, Pirates) in my list just in an effort to manifest their noms.

I’m really hoping that Louis McCartney gets recognized. He gives such a wonderful Broadway debut! His physicality and vocal stamina are so impressive. Can’t imagine doing that performance 8 times a week. Would he be Lead or Featured?

I have a preliminary predictions list but I feel like there are still a LOT of eligibility question marks for musicals on performances that are gonna factor in to most of the categories. Well... mainly the rulings for Pirates and Smash. In truth, having seen both show.... Ramin, DHP, Brooks and Robyn should ALL be featured performances and depending on who gets pushed up to leading will matter so much. If Smash can somehow finesse things and get Robyn considered to be featured, not only is she in she becomes a strong contender imo. And Ramin and DHP could very much cancel one another out if they are both considered for featured but if they split them up, either one of them definitely makes it into featured without the other to cancel them out. But the other likely doesn't get into lead so the question becomes who do they sacrifice in favor of the other for a nomination?

I feel like Sadie Sink will definitely go Lead regardless of how it feels in the actual production. She's a big(ish) name, above the title (right?) and has a much better chance of getting nominated in Lead

But zero percent chance of winning in lead (against Snook) where she could not only get nominated but win in featured. She got raves across the board in a play that’s considered one of the best of the season if not the best - I’m not sure how she wouldn’t get nominated in featured! Genuinely could see this either way. If Shelby wasn’t played by an actress who’s a well-known name, I don’t think she’d be considered the lead of the play.

My understading is the producers chose to submit Sadie for Lead in John Proctor. It was a nod to her fame/star power, but I agree that this was a very non-strategic choice, turning a very possible victory in featured into a no shot run at lead. It's my favorite play of the season but I think it has no shot against Oh, Mary! or Sarah Snook, so hoping that Amalia Yoo has a dark horse shot in the feature category so the play gets some recognition.

The person I keep hearing industry people talk about in John Proctor is Fina Strazza. I gather its a small role but perhaps she might be a dark horse for a supporting nom.

I actually agree that Fina Strazza was my favorite in John Proctor, with Amalia Yoo a close second.  I don't even think Strazza's role is that much smaller as she does a lot of the heavy lifting earlier on in the play.  But I'd be honestly thrilled for any of the girls to get a nomination (and Gabriel Ebert as well)

Love to hear this! She was my favorite in John Proctor. I don't think it's a small role at all - it's a lot meatier and more pivotal than some of the other names I've seen on people's lists for featured actress, and she performs it so flawlessly.

Fina Strazza was amazing, but I think Amalia Yoo has the type of role that gets nominated. Yoo shares the epic final moment with Sadie Sink (and Yoo's gorgeous monologue leads right into their dance) so you leave the show thinking about Sink and Yoo and how they nailed the ending. I'd be happy with all three women earning a spot, but I'd say Yoo has better odds just because of how her role is written with more singular moments.

Mainly, I'm really hoping for ties in Lead Actress in a Musical and Featured Actress in a Play so we get an extra nominee or two. Those categories are just packed with stellar, career-defining work. It's easy to find 6-7 nominees that more than deserve their place.

I agree with all of this, and would love to see both Strazza and Yoo get in! I mean, you could fill that whole category with just that cast and I'd say they all deserve it - I can't remember the last time I loved a play so much.

And I hope there are ties in more than just those two stacked categories, especially in Best Musical - there's just too much good work this year to see it go unrecognized. I would personally be disappointed to see any of Boop! / Buena Vista Social Club / Dead Outlaw / Death Becomes Her / Maybe Happy Ending / Operation Mincemeat / Real Women Have Curves left out of that, even though I'm prepared for that on Thursday haha.
