Agreed! Made me really want to see it. However, to my surprise, it did look/sound a little Fiddler on the Roof-ish?@

Great Comet was fantastic! Really looking forward to seeing the show now!
Just three thoughts I had though...
1. I wish Denee was highlighted.
2. I thought they'd make more use of the entire theatre (the aisles, balcony, mezzanine). Would have loved to see that though I'm sure camera men and editors would have hated it.
3. All that hoopla for the 'extras' and they just sat on the banquettes in the back of the stage? Doing nothing? Thought the extras would have a bigger part with all the rehearsals they attended.

I was thinking the same thing.......

Great Comet was by far the best performance of the night!

And that Comet performance totally backed up the fact that Chavkin was ROBBED.

Can't believe Rudin's "we can't restage Hello Dolly! for Radio City Hall holds any water after seeing The Great Comet rebuild their entire set.
ETA: Yay Oslo!

I wish Denee could have been highlighted too. Her voice is so lovely.

Well I guess I need to get my butt up to see Oslo. It was the only nominated show I haven't seen.

I really want cannoli' from Arthur Avenue.
I was also disappointed with no staging for Hello, Dolly! I guess they want you to hit the resale market to see the show.

Pretty sure Jill just sold bandstand a decent amount of tickets.

GREAT COMET showed everyone how the Tonys are done and it certainly put HELLO DOLLY and, especially, Scott Rudin to shame. God these are boring. Though I am loving Kevin Spacey.

Love the Bandstand dancing -- I'm so glad it won for choreography. I hoped it would. My heart belongs to swing dancing!

I left the viewing party I was at early. Overall, a very disappointing awards show this year with a boring host and lackluster performances (minus The Great Comet). I'm thrilled with a handful of the nominations, but I strongly disagree with most of them. Not a great year.

Anyone who ever saw Newsies knew he was hairy. Who cares? Laura nearly tripped over that dancer, it was smooth of Corey to kind of slide her over.

I was worried for Laura when she nearly tripped. That would have been difficult to come over because of how dancers immediately moved to that part of the stage.
