In the photos associated with the reviews I'm surprised at how low budget the set looks.

ESPECIALLY since the show has one of the finest set designers of his generation, Bob Crowley, who does not work cheap and usually turns out beautiful work –– and gets almost laughably prominent billing. A real waste of money hiring him for this!
How soon before LuPone starts sleepwalking through her performance like she always does? I'll run in to see this when I know Patti is out.
This is a fabulous fun evening that knows it’s aging queen audience. I had so much fun! The whole evening from beginning to end was precious to me. Go.

WTF is she talking about (besides apparently now reviewing the actors’ car service)? Is she saying she was out in the street “getting herself in order” before the end of the show and she heard the applause start, and that while the audience was still clapping the stars sped away in their vehicles??
I had to read it a couple times, but I think she meant applause at the stage door outside the theatre. Usually people are waiting a while for the stars to come out. I think she is saying on this evening the performers left the theatre very quickly... & somehow she had a problem with that?
David Gordon (editor of TheaterMania) tweeted that he had press tickets for today’s performance, but they were cancelled due to an “actor absence”. Anyone know who called out?

Do we have any actual confirmation/notice? I’m going tonight but my friend with the tickets never got any notification.
Who is the understudy? I hope it’s Annette Bening.

Tonight's show is still on sale on Telecharge, so I doubt it's been canceled yet (though that doesn't guarantee it won't be). Someone on Reddit suggested the understudy is being prepped for tonight.
According to this Tweet, a voter's tickets for tonight were canceled because one of the ladies isn't going on (and the PR rep obviously wants them to see both actresses), not because the show is canceled.

Carol Halstead understudies both Sharon and Robyn.
At this point, I don’t care if it’s Patti LuPone and a fern - I just would like to know so I can have a (hopefully inexpensive) back up plan.
Just checked the box office - officially cancelled tonight

that's an award worthy post!
It is on this website as confirmed by Mia's official account on Twitter. I understand it is also posted elsewhere on social media. It has also been reported (but to my knowledge not confirmed) that she was seen leaving the theatre just after half hour. (Dans un masque).,

In cases like this, a standby is hired only because AEA requires it. They will typically cancel a performance if the star is unable to go on. Years ago I worked with the guy who was the standby for Brian Dennehy in Death of a Salesman at The Goodman. When the show transferred to Broadway, he declined to go with it because he was told he would never go on, and he didn’t want to live in NYC for a year just to sit backstage. They did indeed cancel several performances when Dennehy got sick during the run.

Hopefully Halstead gets to go on tomorrow.

But that was pre-covid. I doubt producers in these days are prepared to have to cancel 5 days worth of performances. A day here and there for general illness? Sure.
This play is all about seeing the sublime Mia Farrow and Patti Lupone being just Patti! Other than that, not much to the play but these two form a special bond as roommates that compensates for an ok evening out seeing these stars on stage having fun together.
Is today's performance going on?

Guessing Mia will be out for a while and the box Office will be busy with refunds. That’s too bad.

Today's performance is on with Halstead on as Sharon.
