Every time I come here I see all these ads taking up half the page asking if I trust the mainstream media or asking if Ill vote for trump or a do nothing democrat.
I've been getting the same thing - and I'm in one of the bluest parts of the country with a browsing history that should make my bleeding heart beliefs more than clear. Whatever the reason for the ads, I have to admit that it makes me want to check these boards less. I can't control much right now, but I can at least control how much I have to see his nauseating face.
Those are indeed programmatic ads that are targeting you around the net and clearing your cache/cookies often will help reset their targeting.
You can also click on the ad (ew) and send us the link to moderator@broadwayworld.com and we can forward to our ad partners to try to block the ads from serving to you on BroadwayWorld at least.
Is there a way to disable the pop up Broadway-related videos on the right side of the screen whenever I go to the BWW message board? Some are nice to watch but when I go to these boards, I prefer to simply read and not watch any videos.

Seriously, guys? "
This is probably due (ironically) to abundance of anti-Trump websites you might go to. If you follow a Facebook ad to a Huffpo story or Young Turks story, anything like that, you would be targeted.
Unfortunately, we're probably going to see nothing but political ads online between now and November.
Whenever there's a recession, (like the one we are nosediving into) the first thing on the chopping block for most companies is their advertising budget. The only groups that won't be really affected are election campaigns, whose budgets are pretty much all advertising.
I only get pro-Trump advertising when I visit this site on mobile. On my laptop I get a bunch of ads for video game consoles (which I don't play) and shoe brands that I don't wear.
I have not seen a political ad on this webpage. The ads I see are based on what other websites I have been to. Yesterday I saw travel ads because I went to tripadvisor. Today I am seeing health insurance ads because I went to my insurance company. If you are seeing political ads then it is possible you clicked on anything having to do with any political party. So if you see Trump ads, maybe you went to a website about the DNC or a debate or a news article. Yes I know Trump is currently not a democrat but an ad regarding politics will still appear because your computer will show you as someone interested in politics based on other cookies.
I’m not getting Trump ads but I’m getting phishing ads for Flash and I’m curious about Wick3’s question too. All the pop up videos make viewing on an iPad difficult. They’re often in the way of articles and hard to close. I totally understand the need for advertising and am very grateful for the news and forum that BW provides for us free of charge. But a re-thinking of how pop-up videos are displayed would be appreciated. Or like Wick3 asked - how can I turn them off on a Mac and an iPad?
I’ve noticed in the last couple days a lot of my ads have been the classic “Meet A Ukrainian Woman Near You!” And stuff like that. Seeing as how I’m a gay male, I don’t think my search history/cookies would lead to that advertising. But maybe they’re trying to turn me
I never see political ads on this site on any of my devices. No ads on my chrome book unless I allow them. I hate that video that slides in on the right that has the ad and then is hard to close out. It covers content.
I’ve been getting those exact same Trump ads in so many threads I read. Every few posts and another one pops up. If it’s not trump it’s for AMDA which makes sense on this board..... but I can assure you I’m never searching trump or AMDA so I don’t think it’s based on my search history.
