Cheapest is $79 up to $368 for premium."
$79 for those last 2 mezz rows seats where you need to use binoculars to see faces? Damn....

Previews running $368 center orch-$215. $318 front Mezz down to $94 further back.
Add $25-$50 once it opens.
I will also be at first preview... tickets are on sale through June 29.

I got in almost immediately but didn't buy because I don't have my dates worked out yet.
Orchestra starts at 195.
Currently a bit of weird pricing in the mezz - Row E center was 155 but the sides were 175.
Definitely some new seat numbering - looks like what used to be row K in orchestra for Phantom is now row M

I was looking at December. Christmas week seems considerably higher. Row C center orchestra $368, Row S $215 or $251 (I don’t remember).
I can’t figure out when I want to go so I haven’t pulled the trigger yet- but it appears so far that there isn’t as massive as a demand as I thought.

Hamilton works on a different level, and I think its fantastic. it's an entirely different case than Gypsy."
And the libretto for this musical is all fact? It's basically a total work of fiction.
And yes, you can count on George C. Wolfe to contextualize this casting in how Rose and her daughter experience life.
There are many different ways to approach race in a show like this where you are dealing with a real person and history. You can go the Hamilton route, you could lean into the race of your performers and how the world would perceive them at that time period, so many different directorial choices to make. You have no idea what George C. Wolfe is doing with his approach to this piece. So to declare that a particular actor cannot play a role because of their race when you have no clue what the concept even is...that it IS racist thing to say. So cut the crap.

Got four seats for January, third row side mezz off the aisle, at $175.50 each. The two rows ahead of us were the $368 price point, as were the first few center mezz rows, so I’m feeling pretty good about this.
Nobody is denying the *real* Rose has white. At this point, in the eyes of the musical theater lexicon, she’s a character. What’s not clickin’ and why do you think you’re making some groundbreaking point.
anyway…tickets secured!
Rear mezzanine A for $114 is more than I wanted to pay, but I definitely wasn't going to spend $79 for the rear of the rear, and the first preview should be a blast.

Gypsy is a musical fable. It says so on the original cast recording. It is not intended as a biography of Rose Havoc. Anyone can play the role.

Spent a little more than I wanted to, but happy to be going to first preview as well.

Front side mezz were the $175 price point. I didn’t buy - the majestic is humongous and I’m not concerned I won’t get a ticket - but I got in the waiting room at 9:50, and had a 10 min wait. Telecharge ran smoothly.

I was in and out in a few minutes. Got in around 10:08AM and got tickets for the first preview. I looked at just past opening and tickets were out of my budget. I know there will be discount tickets through my employers so I'll wait to get another set

Got tickets in the rear orchestra so we'd be in the "Sing out, Louise" zone.
I've blown my Broadway budget on Sunset Blvd and Ragtime for now, but I'll probably end up purchasing Gypsy tix in September or October. I'm not concerned with the run selling out super far in advance, as almost nothing does anymore.
Short wait in the queue. 10 minutes tops. Opted for front left mezzanine row C on the aisle at $175 each. Lots of seats priced at $368. "Mama's got the stuff..."
Most of the center orchestra being almost $400 is insane. Not saying Audra doesn't deserve it, but the prices here would make more sense if they had a huge film star joining in one of the roles.

I can't believe I just bought a ticket for something at the Majestic Theater other than Phantom. This really should help with the grieving process though.

Does anyone happen to know if C is the front row for this production or if they're just releasing the first few rows at a later date?
I don't think it matters what the race was of the original Rose or Gypsy Rose Lee. I also think the script makes it clear that its a 'fable' and not a historically accurate portrait. I can understand those who question how they can play the script 'as written' if the creatives are interested in making Rose and Louise's unique experience as black women a central part of the narrative. I suspect George Wolfe is too smart for that and will let whatever interesting subtext emerges with actors of color speak for itself, without feeling the need to rerwite or belabour the idea of this production to be about the struggle of black artisists in the burlesque era.

If it's correct, rows K and L in the side orchestra sections have been removed, not renumbered/lettered.

While I don't know for certain, of course, there has been a trend in the past few years of shows not selling the first few rows when tickets first go on sale. I would imagine it is to wait and see if the design of the show dictates needing those rows for set/orchestra purposes. As someone who prefers front row seats it is quite maddening to buy tickets early only to have rows added in later in front of the seats I've bought. So, I've started waiting.

Got my tickets! This would be my first time seeing opening previews of any show, but I just have to witness my favorite theatre actress in one of the greatest theatre roles for the first time with a bunch of others who are also seeing it for the first time.
I think I have a good seat and the price for it wasn’t too eye-watering either for how much money I have. I just hope I’ll be able to keep this date, what with the no refund policy.
