Lopez wrapped the firstweek in May (days after the dance numbers concluded filming). She filmed her non-dancing sections in her last days. The non-Lopez portions of the film are currently filming and the film has not wrapped. The production scheduled all her sections to be done first and release her before moving on to the rest of the film. Any reshoots/pickups that might be needed will be done before the film wraps completely or in post production, pending her schedule. She’s an EP on the film so she does have the clout to coordinate the filming schedule to accommodate her."

So exciting. Still pinching myself this is happening. I hope it's successful enough to make the musical a viable commercial stage property - Bway, regional, whatever.
The film has officially been wrapped as of a few days ago. With Lopez, this cast and rumors of the musical numbers being BIG, this might be a very good movie musical for Bill Condon. Dreamgirls was the last movie of his that I really enjoyed, hopefully Kiss of the Spider Woman will be really good.

Of course. This isn’t an industry private screening. It’s an advance public screening for them to gage how audiences respond. This is equivalent to a Broadway preview performance. They will shorten, cut, reshoot and change things based on these screenings. Every film in history has done these screenings and countless now classic films reshot their endings after the original endings “tested” negatively.

It really isn’t like a Broadway preview at all, based on your description alone.

I don't know how much of it is her, but I notice one her projects start production they seem to zoom through. Her involvement in Hustlers announced in August of 2018, it was filmed in March of 2019, and by September of that year was in theaters. She seems to be an in and out kind of girl.
