She did the opposite, actually.
she posted an apology where she completely skirted around the issue and did not denounce a single thing Trump stands for, in spite of the opportunity to do so being right there in front of her.
She literally liked a post from RFK Jr about how we need to get Trump back in the White House. How is that to be interpreted other than politically?

she said nothing about not supporting the fascist"
It is obvious she did not write this herself. The only thing this “clarifies” is her religious beliefs. Nice try. Trying not to get too far in the weeds on this debacle, but as someone who really enjoyed both her performance and this production, this is really disappointing and leaves and extremely sour taste in my mouth.
"There’s nothing quite like the power and the passion of Broadway music. "
She only addresses the hat, which is easy to explain away as a mistake. She doesn’t address the other more explicitly pro-Trump posts she interacted with, or her friendship with Russell, or her anti-abortion stance. She doesn’t disavow Trump or deny that she voted for him. She doesn’t clarify what her politics are.
She could have so easily cleared the air by directly stating her position instead of vaguely dancing around it. This tells me exactly who she voted for, and it ain’t Kamala. But if you buy this vague non-apology…well I’m sure her PR team appreciates that.
I'm sorry but the Broadway community does not require every person who works there to sign an allegiance to the Democratic Party or become the subject of a witch hunt. Or does it?
You can't continue to punish people for believing as 75 percent of the rest of the country does, nor can you punish people from the Broadway Community because you think they (of all people) somehow personify the intentions of the evils of the enemy. As if Nicole Sherzinger is the one to be punished for Trump's worst future behavior. It's insane.
All this does is punish the people working on SUNSET BOULEVARD.

My point is this PR non-apology does not change the situation. Of course she’s allowed to support whoever she wants. And we are allowed to be unhappy with who/what she supports and talk about it publicly.
EntrActe, I want to make clear that TikTok you posted is from a fan account. That is not Nicole's official TikTok page. The one from her official account does not include that song.

Nobody needs to sign allegiance to the Democratic party. This isn't about party. There were plenty of Republicans who openly spoke against Trump and did not vote for him, because no one with the slightest bit of morality would consider him fit to be president of this or any country. No one needs to punish his voters for things he will or might do. He's done enough terrible things during his first presidency that any decent person would be horrified and disgusted. He is a demonstrably, openly, repentantly bad man who has already hurt so many people. It is not unreasonable for anyone who recognizes that to not want anything to do with anyone who would vote for such a person to be president of the country, even before the things he's promised to do. That's not party. That's morality.
And no, 75% of the country does not believe the way he, or she, does. Far fewer than 75% of the country voted, and he didn't even get 75% of that vote. What are you on about?
Listen, the results of the election are still very raw, but I think a lot of people are allowing their blind rage to cloud their vision here. Don’t get me wrong, I’m mad as hell and I am ready to fight! However, cancelling a Pussycat Doll for who she may or may not have voted for is very low on my agenda of battles to fight. The other side is counting on this discourse and the vitriol toward a woman in a Broadway show from a community that prides itself on being tolerant and able to have difficult conversations and educate others is a real bad look- especially considering it’s against another woman of color when we’re all outraged by the decision our country made not to elect a woman of color, how are we any better in this situation than those we’re outraged by? Let’s not kid ourselves the rich white men and women at the top of the industry didn’t vote for him to get a tax cut. Let’s fight those people who too often don’t allow people of color or those from other marginalized communities a spot at the table. Instead of boycotting the show which will only affect the rest of the people working at the St. James, I’d offer this- it’s red bucket season, keep your ticket and go make a donation to an organization that will need to assist us in this fight for humanity and decency over the course of this next administration- that’s an act of protest that could make a difference- and let’s maybe practice what we’re preaching.
Why is it always up to us to take the high road? To be the tolerant ones? To extend an arm across the aisle when none is being extended to us?
Yes, this is small potatoes. Yes, go out and donate and protest and do good in ways that will actually matter. But why are some here so eager for us to shut up about this topic? We have no power. Nicole will stay in the show, it will keep making money, she will get her Tony. But we have a right to express our displeasure. In an extremely scary and vulnerable time, Broadway feels like a safe haven. It is a haven for many groups of marginalized people, and a place for audiences and actors to process emotions, get catharsis, and come together in community. I think many people are feeling fragile right now and are not in the mood to welcome someone into that community who actively voted to harm it. (And before you say "we don't actually know her beliefs" - she's welcome to issue a clearer statement that actually addresses the evidence that's come out if she wants to)

I wouldn’t be surprised if some Broadway elite (producers, investors, etc.) have donated money to both parties and various superPACs."
I swear we've had similar conversations about Katharine McPhee and Jordan Roth before. This is not the first time this board has talked about social media activity or donations to suss out political affiliation. And that's putting aside the obvious flame outs like Laura Osnes and Chad Kimball.

Nanci Pelosi finally calling out Biden. This is where the energy needs to be directed! Shame, shame on the Democratic leadership for allowing this to happen. Nicole’s name surprisingly hasn’t come up as the root of all evil .
