Aside from the original Broadway run’s logo and the wolf/man original west end key art, I’ve never seen risks taken for this show. The design is always a pedestrian version of little red entering book covers (2002) or her entering this weird forest/curtain design for both CC and Broadway."
While normally I would agree, since this is only for a short run and not an elaborate presentation, probably best to keep the logo simplistic to manage expectations.

While contracts for the new Broadway revival suggest the show might be captured for release later in its run, no specific plans have been announced to the public at this time.
If these plans do come to fruition, the Encores! Into the Woods revival will be the third production of the musical to be professionally filmed - the original 1989 Broadway production was originally filmed for PBS' American Playhouse series and is widely available to stream.
The 2011 UK revival was also filmed at Regent’s Open Air Theatre in London by Digital Theatre after being awarded Best Musical Revival at the 2011 Olivier Awards.
I’ll always support professionally filming a show, and this could be very helpful for the production’s award prospects, keeping it available to see and in the mind of voters long after closing.
For anyone interested: last night on Stars in the House (I love that they're still doing this), Seth & James had Sara, Gavin, & Jordan on, and they sang "Agony" and "Moments in the Woods". Jordan also sang "Finishing the Hat" and "Proud Lady" and those were glorious too. Jordan was out when I saw ITW at City Center so to get to see him with Gavin was such a treat and to get to hear Sara sing "Moments in the Woods" again was wonderful. It's also a lovely episode with some surprises, if you have the time to watch the whole thing!
The biggest loss to this transfer is Heather Headley, I was really hoping she would return. Patina Miller has very big shoes to fill, and I am very curious to see what she will do. I am curious if Miller will repeat what she did in 2019, or will she be directed to do more of what Headley did in the Encores concert.
What are people's thoughts on the possibility of us getting a cast album with this transfer cast now?
I'm super happy this is transferring - but without Heather Headley my excitement to buy a ticket is gone. I'll pass on this one but am still excited to hear about Patina's performance and hopefully see photos and clips of her performance :)

Or you could use the MAYEVENTS22 15% off code on SeatGeek through tonight, and probably save more than you would on just fees by going to the box office.

It was fun to watch. Gavin and Jordon were adorable.

Thanks Taffy. :)

Wow if proshots are the only way of keeping productions alive in the memories of voters that doesn’t place a lot of confidence in them, does it? Wow poor actors that you’d believe that.

Nowhere did ATerrifyingAndImposingFigure imply anything negative about Tony voters... And I agree with their post - for shows that opened in the fall, it could be beneficial for Tony voters (and everyone, for that matter) to have a way to "revisit" shows that have closed. Tony Voters, if they're doing their jobs properly, see every show that opens each season which can be A LOT of shows (and yes, I know not all voters see everything like they're supposed to, but that's a whole other can of worms).
It's easy to possibly forget about some earlier performances from the fall with the inundation of the spring shows. They're human, after all, and as humans we can forget or overlook things, including certain performance or performance elements from a show we saw months ago. It's actually for that reason that many shows that open in the fall or early winter will re-invite voters to attend the show again if it is still running.
"There’s nothing quite like the power and the passion of Broadway music. "
It's not so much they FORGET, but when you saw something you were wowed with 9 months ago and compare it to something also wonderful you saw 9 DAYS ago, the more recent one will burn brighter in your mind. For MOST people.
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?

There's also the case where someone's memory of a performance is better than what the performance actually was; giving that show an edge over something you more recently saw. Lord knows we have SO many posters here who constantly want "old days to come back" when it might not have been that much better, just their own mental state and expectations from entertainment was different than what it is now.
Back to the topic! I just bought mid-July tickets. $200.00 / each for side mezz seats. This is SO expensive. I cannot remember shelling this much money for even front-Orch seats for even Tony winning shows just a few years ago.
Caption: Every so often there was a rare moment of perfect balance when I soared above him.
NEVER buy tickets from Broadway.com! Their mark up is ridiculous. (Unless things have changed recently.)
