There really won't be much appeal of theatergoers to see this with just some average Broadway names in it.
$59 for Balc Row A is a good deal, but overall the prices aren't that crazy-low. Not MERRILY levels, but premiums are still $200+ through Row M of the orchestra and the first 3 rows of the mezz. They can always raise prices if demand warrants, and that's a big house to fill. Doing a "fan presale" before announcing any casting is also a free & easy way to gauge interest in the title itself from fans of theatre & Python.
The rumors on this production are hilarious. In the span of one hour yesterday, I was told by one industry person "they're only keeping Kitzer and Urie, all the other principals are new." And then another said "they're keeping everyone from KenCen except Brightman, Iglehart, and McClure who are unavailable." So we'll see what happens when they actually announce.
If I were the agent of a major comedy star, I really don't think I'd want my client doing this. Lots of opportunity for negative comparison (to the movie and the OBC), a mid director, and a crowded Broadway landscape. And if the star is big enough to sell tickets in this show, they're big enough to headline another show.

What's even more hilarious is that we now have some people bitching and moaning about LOW ticket prices!

$99 for side orch row H is pretty nice. Gonna see this regardless of cast, so happy to snag those now.
Not asking for someone to leak it but does anyone actually know who the cast is? I'm interested if anyone here actually has that knowledge or if we are truly all just speculating.

There is a cast and it’s being announced tomorrow alongside the general on sale

Haven’t really seen people complaining about prices, more just surprised by them.

One wonders what effect the lack of a cast announcement is having on the presale. I'm also wishing the best for this production but could some of the lower than averages prices on some seats may indicate that expectations of a big name cast should be tempered.
I imagine that the lack of an earlier casting announcement was simply due to the fact that several principals are not available for the transfer, and the producers were still waiting to see if offers sent out to new stars would be accepted and finalized. I’m looking forward to tomorrow’s announcement - hopefully they have some big names coming in.

Hopefully they do. Fingers crossed 🤞.

I see that they are selling presale tickets for shows through April.
So, either the production's ending has been pushed back a few months or it's now an open-ended run.

Anyone have any idea when we can expect the cast announcement.?

I have a feeling it’ll be when general public tickets go on sale in four minutes…
Chris Fitzgerald is patsy, JMI is Arthur, Kritzer and Urie as expected, ETHAN SLATER as Herbert, Jimmy Smagula as Bedevire and Nik Walker as Galahad. No Lance yet.

If I may put on my cynical hat --
why even bother opening if that's the level of non-star casting they have?
I am assuming (yes, I know) that they are loking for an A grade well known star for Lance to pull in tourists.
Getting Ethan Slater at the height of the Ariana drama is a choice ... not saying the wrong one, just a choice, that's all
Jeez, what a disappointment. I already saw at the Kennedy Center, so without an exciting replacement I don’t plan to return. I guess they’re banking on the show’s title to sell tix?
Shoulda transferred Sunset Blvd instead. Now that was a show.
The amount of people that just blatantly lied about this casting is astounding
While this is definitely a talented cast, there's next to no star wattage... I don't think the title alone will be enough to fill the St. James beyond the first few weeks. Guess we will see.

Yep. I think I need to start ignoring all the casting rumors I've read about 'Cabaret' on here.

I can think of very few stars who would be (a) great in the role, (b) want to do this, and (c) sell enough tickets to singlehandedly fill the St. James.
And if Lance is the only star in the show, that could pull focus and upset the calibration of the comedy.
Is a tour capitalization already built into the Broadway capitalization? I guess that could cushion the blow.
Well this casting announcement is a big old nothing burger compared to the speculation in this thread...
Fun Fact: Fitzgerald originated the role of Boq in Wicked on Broadway. Slater is playing that same character in Jon M. Chu’s upcoming two-part film adaptation.
