If Six is at the Brooks this spring then id say whoever posted abut Secret Life of Bees this fall at the Longacre is likely correct.

I would personally choose a play or musical where most of the creative team are female. It would be a good way of showing that Waitress has succeeded in allowingfemale creative teams to flourish on Broadway. The Secret Life of Bees has a feamle book writer and lyricist, so it could be selected..."

I'm not sure why this line of thinking always comes out in these sorts of threads...the creative team has literally zero say in the theatre any given show goes into. Just not how the real estate works. Sure, they can have requirements for their production (like stage size, wing space, etc.), but that's where it ends.

I've heard murmurings of a few of the houses getting filled.

If I had to guess, Secret Life of Bees would be a great fit in the Cort. Lehman Trilogy is still circling I'd imagine (maybe one of the open Nederlander houses?) and Blue which could in theory end up at the Lyceum. Not surprised no one is rushing to take the Lyceum for the Fall given the rest of the open houses popping up. I wouldn't be surprised if the Sondheim opens up shortly as well.

I’m confused by your phrasing. It sounds like you’re implying that Bees is not commercial enough to play anywhere except as part of MTC’s season, which I don’t think is true at all. It might not be the most commercial of musicals, but it will likely have enough power as a prestige piece to get attention - or at least that will be what investors are banking on.

Also, this show is very unlike MTC’s usual programming. Mainly because they rarely ever do musicals. They could always make an exception for something like Lempicka, but dobutfully for something like Bees. It would be surprising to see them take on a show that already started at another NYC non-profit. I suppose they COULD rent the theatre out, but I’ve never known them to do that in the 5 or so years I’ve been following MTC. Plus they would only be able to lease it for a limited run, because MTC has to produce a full season for their subscribers.

Secret Life Of Bees will not be playing MTC. It has commercial producers attached. (MTC has also only done 3 musicals in the past 25 years and two were brought to them by Hal Prince.)

But seriously, I'm a bit curious about the Cique du Soleil x-mas show that will play MSG's Hulu theatre.

Will the Stephen Sondheim be dark through the winter? I'm guessing that the reason Beautiful is staying on through the end of October is that nothing else wants the space badly right away.

Maybe the Doyle production happening next Spring? That's also probably wishful thinking, as I can't think of a Classic Stage Company transfer. I'm at least excited for a new Assassin's production coming back to NYC.

So politically acceptable means uncritically accept any and all allegations no matter who absurd, contradictory and provably false they are? Robson and Safechuck are not boys they are men. They are also proven serial liars (they repeatedly changed their stories since they decided to play the victim and claimed literally impossible things) who both only accused Jackson when they had financial problems and for 6 years they did everything they could to extort millions from Jackson's Estate. They are accusing MJJ Production of procuring kids for molestation and absolute nonsense that, notice, they did not mention in Leaving Neverland because if they had those people at MJJ Production could sue them for defamation. THey only claim this in court where their lies are protected by the litigation privilege. If this was true they would have mentioned it in the movie too. And if they are lying about that company why on earth do you think they won't lie about Michael Jackson too to get the money they want?

Their allegations are heavily based on Victor Gutierrez's sick fantasies and NAMBLA supporter pedophilia advocate whom Jackson successfully sued for defamation. Leaving Neverland has been debunked months ago but most of the media refuses to report the irrefutable evidence that their allegations cannot possibly be true.

Did you follow the Robson Safechuck court cases since 2013? I did. The two are the biggest frauds I have ever seen they are making a mockery of child sex abuse for financial gain.
