I watched the 1:30 commercial on You Tube, and didn't feel any excitement the woman playing Francine does not have a Minnelli voice and doesn't even sound that good. I will not be rushing to the St. James to see this, the movie was enough...
Colton Ryan does nothing for me. Zero charm or stage presence.
A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

This is one of the perils of releasing early promotional footage before a show starts rehearsals. They have a few music coachings beforehand and then it's recorded to be seen/heard primarily by online theatre lovers who will overly scrutinize it. Whether it's a new song (where the composition may be critiqued - like Bad Cinderella) or an existing song where comparisons will be made (NY, NY). By now, Anna has been in rehearsal for a few weeks and has been able to wrap the song around her voice better has developed an actual performance with Stro.
It seems like they really didn't do any promotion whatsoever, so despite being in the midst of planning and booking shows for a July trip - this was barely on my radar. I didn't even know it was based on a movie, and had no idea what it was even about despite being about "people coming to New York".
After listening to the 2 songs posted on Soundcloud, I'm definitely interested! "Music, Money, Love" and "But The World Goes Round" both sound great! I'm LOVING the orchestral arrangements!! Nonetheless, I don't think I'm going to be booking this one in advance (I absolutely hate the Seat Geek interface and feel like I'm constantly being ripped off based on their color-coded seat dots. And like others have said, it seems foolish that they're charging top-dollar for a show without all much buzz?) But I'll absolutely seek out rush tickets when I arrive! Based on the sheer amount of tickets available on Seat Geek, I don't imagine rush tickets will be difficult to get come July.
The rehearsal footage of the numbers is hilarious. It has such a strong WAITING FOR GUFFMAN feel it’s baffling this is a real Broadway level musical. It looks like an SNL parody of a cliché Broadway musical.

I'm so curious to see how this turns out! I do really like "Music, Money, Love"
Also! Shoot me a DM I have a random question to ask you Brody :)

Same baby, same. It's like, have you seen him in TheGirl from Plainville with his shaved head? Or in Little Voice where he seranades a sad girl with his gorgeous voice in the rain? Ugh.
I don't know why, but I legitimately keep forgetting this show is even happening. I plan to see it and wish it well, but I guess it just hasn't really been on my radar.
