I thought he was the standout among the Company men in a harder role to be a standout than, say, Matt Doyle, whose song’s staging and not the performance is the highlight. I think Elder’s visibility among Tony royalty in The Gilded Age will help him see a nomination."
I thought Elder gave the best performance of them all when I saw the show. Doyle was trying hard. To each their own.
Wow! I'm pretty sure I agree with just about everything you said, Kurtal! Really the only change is that I'd switch Fitzgerald for Sella.

Took the words right out of my mouth. Elder is inspired and Doyle, while totally serviceable in the role, has really showy staging that tricks the audience into thinking it’s an amazing performance.

I would be delighted at an Emily Davis nomination! I just think she's going to be overshadowed by some of the bigger names and more recent performances. Whereas I think Deidre O'Connell's performance was absolutely revolutionary and will have staying power.

I didnt see, but the description of O’Connell’s performance is something stellar itself. Are we sure she can beat Parker? Maybe because Parker got glowing reviews in an open show is the reason?

I think that if they really love “Company”, we may get 3/5 slots for featured actor - Doyle, Elder and Fitzgerald.

Does Tamika Lawrence have any shot at a nomination? I’d honestly probably put her as my personal favorite “featured actress” this season, and I know many others on this board were raving about her early on during Caroline or Change’s run. I know it’s not a very showy role so I guess it makes sense she wouldn’t be in the running, but possible dark horse for a nomination?

IMO I could see Samantha Williams getting nominated over Tamika

I've been seeing some praise for Rachel Dratch on the POTUS thread. Anyone else think she'll get the nomination/award?

It's a wide open field. I think she could definitely break in for a nomination, but I don't think she'll win.
If Uzo Aruba is considered featured I think it’d be really hard to beat here. Her presence was so huge and her performance has stuck with me so much that I keep thinking of her as the lead of that show and what made the whole thing come together. I also think Rachel Dratch has to get a nod here. Yeah the schtick is itself already a funny gag but the way she sells it and commits to it was comic mastery, IMO.
BEST ACTRESS IN A MUSICAL:
Sharon D. Clarke - Caroline, or Change
Katrina Lenk - Company
Joaquina Kalukango - Paradise Square
Sutton Foster - The Music Man
Carmen Cusack - Flying Over Sunset or Mare Winningham - Girl From the North Country

Gabbi Beans, Uzo, and Dratch are feeling like top contenders.
Robbie those are my exact thoughts on Lead Actress. I'm currently thinking Cusack takes 5th slot, as she just had SO much to do and sang gloriously (and got the best songs of the show).
As for other categories being discussed above:
Featured Actress in a Musical: Patti LuPone, Jennifer Simard, and Jane Lynch all are probably safe. Last 2 slots are between L Morgan Lee, Jeanette Bayardelle, Jayne Houdyshell, Caissie Levy, and Samantha Williams.
Featured Actress in a Play: I still think Kenita Miller is the only person even remotely locked. Then I have Uzo Aduba, Jessica Frances Dukes, Rachel Dratch, and Okwui Okpokwasili.
BUT there's huge threats from Johanna Day, Amber Gray, Phylicia Rashad, Julie White, Blair Brown, Gaby French, and Kara Young. I still think this is the toughest category of the whole ceremony to call and it could go 100 different ways.
I really don't think Amber Grey is in this race. In my post in the Macbeth thread, I mentioned that most of the actors in that production seemed like they were lost at sea, due to the style of direction, or lack thereof. Unfortunately, I thought Grey was among those actors who didn't manage to rise above. I thought her performance was really detached and confused, and she seemed to be uncomfortable with the text.
BTW, for the record, I'm saying this as a long-time fan of Amber Grey. I think she's a phenomenal performer who deserves to have a Tony on her shelf, but for me...this was not it.
EDIT: but perhaps more relevant than my opinion are the facts that (a) the production has not been well received, (b) Banquo is not actually a very award-friendly role; it's a role that's more significant for its significance in the plot than for what the actor actually gets to do

Would Beans be leading or featured? She definitely feels like the lead of Skin of Our Teeth, but I know that how it feels and how the committee views things don't always match up (see Uzo).
Either way, those three have definitely been some of my favorite performances this season. Would love to see all three nominated.

Lead Actress in a Musical:
Carmen Cusack - Flying Over Sunset
Jenna DeWall - Diana
Mare Winningham - Girl From North Country
Jenn Gambatese - Mrs Doubtfire
Sutton Foster - The Music Man
Katrina Lenk - Company
Sharon D. Clarke - Caroline, or Change
Joaquina Kalukango - Paradise Square
Beanie Feldstein - Funny Girl
Adrianna Hicks - Six
Andrea Macasaet - Six
Abby Mueller - Six
Brittney Mack - Six
Samantha Pauly - Six
Anna Uzele - Six
Lead Actor in a Musical:
Jay O. Sanders - Girl From North Country
Rob McClure - Mrs Doubtfire
Harry Hadden-Paton - Flying Over Sunset
Tony Yazbeck - Flying Over Sunset
Myles Frost - MJ
Jaquel Spivey - A Strange Loop
Billy Crystal - Mr Saturday Night
Hugh Jackman - The Music Man
Are those all the official contenders pending Karimloo’s placemente in “Funny Girl”, right?
I would say Clarke, Lenk, Kalukango, Foster and Cusack seems more right to me. If any of the Six girls get in, whos in? I would say Hicks.
Actor is Jackman, Spivey, Frost, Crystal and McClure.
Cusack has not a chance with Mare Winningham coming back into the picture with NORTH COUNTRY.
I also think Foster and Feldstein might be the toss-up, but with tonight’s reviews - it tips heavily toward Foster
I know every prediction is leaning towards LuPone and Doyle as the front runners for Featured Actress/Actor in musical but I really think the award should go to Jennifer Simard and Claybourne Elder. They have both taken funny parts and elevated them to the next level. Finding and honing laughs out of things that simply aren't there in the script. That, to me, is the real sign of a brilliant performer. Jennifer Simard is really one-of-a-kind and gets some of the biggest laughs of the night and Claybourne has made a meal out of a monologue about a butterfly and a cat. Just my 2 cents. I wouldn't be upset if both their names were called on June 12th!
If we only get three Best Revival of a Musical nominations, which production doesn't make the cut? Is it possible we get four or even just two?

I don’t believe it’s possible we get only two nominees, and we’d need a tie to get four. I’d say it looks like Funny Girl misses. Music Man also doesn’t have the best reviews, but it’s a much bigger production and it feels like consensus is more underwhelming than Funny Girl which has passionate detractors. Caroline or Change could be hurt by closing so early with only a brief run, but given its markedly better reception than those two, I’d say it still makes it. Company is of course as locked as they come.

I really dont know what to think of Best Musical, but feels more and more that “MJ” can surprise with a nom.
Maybe they will go with Loop, Six, Girl, Paradise and Flying? Maybe, but “MJ” feels like a “crowd pleasure” choice. If they are open to Michael Jackson, of course.
I think that for Best Musical we will see Girl From the North Country, Six, and A Strange Loop nominated for sure... no clue about the other nominees.
As for Best Musical Revival, I think Caroline, or Change and Company are locks for nominations with The Music Man and Funny Girl battling it out for the third spot (if they don't go with 4). I think that The Music Man has a slight edge considering its cast and "event" status.
After seeing For Colored Girls on saturday, i would not be surprised if they snuck in and won Best Play Revival
Fingers crossed COMPANY is the frontrunner for Best Revival. I would love to see this production live on with cast replacements, a cast album, and maybe even a tour.
