This is so horrible, I cannot imagine. I have no words.

This is really the worst possible tragedy. So unfair and so sad. I really hope the police rethink their lax treatment of the driver. Medical condition my ass; she had a history of running reds and speeding.

The Olivier noms came out today too. She would have gotten one for sure. God I hope she makes a full recovery.

I hope the driver is punished to the fullest extent of the law.

My thoughts are with the families. I don't know Ruthie Ann well but have encountered her several times in a professional capacity. She has always struck me as a warm and generous person. To have to endure something so horrible, and be fighting for your life and the life of your unborn child, is unfathomable. All blessings to her and Lauren Lew and their spouses.

This news is absolutely devastating. I can't even begin to imagine the grief the surviving victims are going through right now.

I hope that's true. If there is a medical condition that she knew about, she should never have been behind the wheel to begin with. Period. That is if it's true at all. 

Words cannot express the sadness I feel for both those families. 

Incredibly sad.  Just two weeks ago, my wife and I woke up on a Saturday and decided to take a flight that afternoon to see Chess and visit the Smithsonian.  What seemed crazy then doesn't anymore.    

An update from Ruthie's GoFundMe page: "Ruthie is no longer in critical condition, and is on the road to physical recovery. Also, thankfully, her unborn child is unharmed."

Thank goodness that she and her unborn baby are okay. How heartbreaking that she and her friend lost their other children.

Guys, seriously, come on. This is really not the thread to be having a religious debate. Focus on Ruthie and her family.
