This looks great, I love Megan Hilty and Debra Messing. I'm excited to see Mcphee's acting skills, haven't been tempted to watch anything of hers before. 2012 though?
Really excited for this. I think the Glee comparisons are suspect at best but I am sure NBC is looking for anything to perk people's interest into watching a scripted show again and it certainly can be a selling point of 'Glee for adults'. This seems closer to Studio 60 if I had to make a show comparison (and I make that comparison positively).
Seems this could be McPhee's breakout. Everybody knows her voice but I have only seen her in House Bunny (she seemed fine but that movie ain't exactly Chekhov) and guest-starring on Community (she was likable but it was a barely an episode arc for me to really judge).
Anyone else think that last song sounded like 'A New Life' from Jekyll & Hyde? A great song regardless.

I can't stop watching the trailer. I have watched it about 20 times since yesterday and I have the same reaction everytime. That cut back and forth of Megan and Katharine singing that song as it swells to the end is thrilling.

I heard about this show in passing and figured I would probably (surely) watch it but learn more about it later. I had no idea until today that Brian D'Arcy James was on it! Oh my goodness, I adore him. And same for Jack Davenport! Agree with the person who hopes this is more adult oriented than Glee (not that I don't love Glee).
It looks good, but I'm not sold on great yet. I'd prob have more faith if this was meant for cable as originally planned. Also the preview has a few too many cliches for me to really be fully onboard (like that dreadful scene where she goes over to the director's place and *almost* sleeps with him for the role. YAWN). But I'll def be checking out out.
Katherine McPhee has been on my radar for quite a while and she looks and sounds amazing here. Why her career didn't instantly blow up immediately after she was released from that horrible Gong Show is beyond me.
That said, the lecherous director trope has got to go.
