I second GRAND HOTEL. How has that show not been revived?
Apart from that MACK & MABEL and SEESAW are begging for the Encores! treatment, and one they won't do since it was revived in NY so recently, PASSION.

It's difficult since certain estates won't grant them the rights because they feel an Encores! concert somehow deems the show as "troubled and unrevivable" despite many successful transfers and revivals. I know Jerry Herman has nixed his shows because he thinks they all deserve first-class revivals, even the biggest flops.

Yeah I know MACK & MABEL will not happen because of Herman. A real shame since an actual Broadway revival is so unlikely.

Off- Center productions of Floyd Collins and Taboo would be amazing.
I third Grand Hotel and I would really love to see what they could do to Henry, Sweet, Henry or Dance a Little Closer.

I've been dying for them to do Rags since I knew what Encores! was. That score played by that huge orchestra would be stunning.
It also wasn't done terribly long ago but I would love for them to do Bernarda Alba at Off-Center.

Broadway Cares had a Rags one night concert a few years ago. It was pretty great.

Jerry Herman must be delusional, because the only chances in hell he'd ever have to see his non DOLLY! and MAME and LA CAGE shows done would be at Encores!. He should be celebrating Encores!. Shame on him.

I would love to see the original version of Carrie at encores but with the recent off bway revival it seems improbable for the near future. Maybe they could get Lillias White for the gym teacher since she was the original standby. I'd love to see someone unexpected for Margaret like Audra (they could do the Barbara Cook approach vocally).
