Today Playbill is providing even more confirmation that the London production of Michael Bennett's Dreamgirls will indeed be transferring over in the 2017-2018 Broadway season! I'm assuming Amber Riley will be transferring with this production as well!

Riley was magnificent in this, two mid show standing ovations ( which where very well deserved) really was a thrilling production and for me well worth the 35 year wait to see it
Well I didn't want to get into it, but he's a Satanist.
Every full moon he sacrifices 4 puppies to the Dark Lord and smears their blood on his paino.
This should help you understand the score for Wicked a little bit more.

I agree. Marquis would be great but doesn't look like it's planning to bring down the shutters anytime soon. Things might change by early '18 tho.
It's possible that Al Hirschfeld theatre might open up as well, which would also be a good house for this show. Too bad Palace is closing for renovations, that would have been perfect.

Also heard that producer Sonia Friedman is considering the Hudson opening in early '18
The Hudson is too small to house Dreamgirls
"That's what my agent friend said as he has a client in the show and the Savoy is similar to the Hudson...just passing on what was shared with me."
That actually makes some amount of sense. SFP is (or was when created) a subsidiary of Ambassador Theatre Group. As far as I know, she still has a very close working relationship with ATG.

Yeah, this is actually a good point. Dreamgirls in now in an ATG theatre, but more importantly remember the effort she is putting in to bring Harry Potter over into an ATG owned theatre. Oh, and based off a quick Google search it looks like she's still working with/for ATG.
I saw the show in London and liked the girl playing Deena, but after seeing Adrienne Warren with the NY Pops at Carnegie Hall last night, I think she'd be fantastic. Give that girl the role!
Is Riley doing all 8 shows, or does she have an alternate?
A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.
Anyone who's actually seen the show in London would never say the Hudson is too small. It's in fact bigger than the Savoy in London, so could easily go there. The set isn't very big at all, there isn't tons of scenery , just a few rotating towers and a couple of pieces that track downstage.
most of your theatres are bigger than the Savoy actually so there are a whole host of theatres in NYC that could house it.
