I think Oprah's a very good actress and seeing someone like her on stage would be kind of amazing.

If Oprah wants something, chances are, it will happen. And I think this might be a great idea.
Wasn't she in Legally Blonde?
I would pay to see her! I love Oprah.
I don't watch her show and not a big fan of hers personally but she is a very good actress and I would see her onstage.

Oprah is the most powerful woman in entertainment today. She has achieved everything she has said she would. I personally think she has an uncanny amount of charisma and could see her really succeeding on the broadway stage.

I love you, HistoryBoy2.
i love Oprah. I just hope it's not a damn slave show. So sick of seeing one of the richest most powerful women in the world play slave characters.
She's set to play Mama Nadi in the film version of Ruined; maybe she'll bring the play to Broadway, too.

Didn't Reidel report she wanted the FENCES revival?
Does Oprah stagedoor? What's the show curtain like? What merch are they selling?
I had wanted to make a joke about the stage curtain being one of her shirts but I'm not going to.

I hope this happens. I would see her for sure. And no matter which play she's in, it would be a guaranteed long run because of the sheer number of people who would want to see Oprah perform on Broadway.

In a Musical No but I'd kill to see her in a straight Play. when is someone going to Adapt the Oprah Winfrey Story to the Stage or Screen?
Well thats where you're wrong. If it were ever to happen, I can't see it being any longer than a 12 week run. This is one of the busiest women in the world.

Perhaps her good friend Tyler Perry will write her a part.
And lo, the OPRAH said "Let me be on Broadway," and then OPRAH was, and it was good.

"Wasn't she in Legally Blonde?"
I don't get the joke. :P
What the EFF is a "damn slave show"?!
Love her to death, really do but, I can't see her in anything bigger than a funny/character sidekick of some sort.

Then stop watching Beloved.

Blerg. I kind of had my hopes set on a slave show and now I feel like a jerk even saying it because apparently it's uncool or whatever. Like "Oprah's Slave Show" where they cover you with wet paper spit balls at the end and ruin your only business suit and hairdid. That would've been great.

Winner! Best post of the day!
What's that I hear? The phone in the Weissler offices trying to get her in Chicago as Mama? **
For Oprah to be on Broadway, it would essentially boil down to her agreeing to do 12 weeks of charity work because Broadway could never pay her and the whole thing would a be circus.
Sadly Oprah can't take a small show or a small part and just act. Whatever she does would become an event. Huge theatre, huge ticket prices, huge security and audience issues.
As previously stated, the woman is like a world leader at this point and can't take off 6 months to do a show.
I think she is a great actress and commits fully to her projects but the logistics would be a nightmare and getting a ticket would be an impossibility.
Its the same reason Babs can't return to Broadway. Too much hoopla.
