Oprah is the most powerful woman in entertainment today. She has achieved everything she has said she would. I personally think she has an uncanny amount of charisma and could see her really succeeding on the broadway stage.
She's set to play Mama Nadi in the film version of Ruined; maybe she'll bring the play to Broadway, too.
"You travel alone because other people are only there to remind you how much that hook hurts that we all bit down on. Wait for that one day we can bite free and get back out there in space where we belong, sail back over water, over skies, into space, the hook finally out of our mouths and we wander back out there in space spawning to other planets never to return hurrah to earth and we'll look back and can't even see these lives here anymore. Only the taste of blood to remind us we ever existed. The earth is small. We're gone. We're dead. We're safe."
-John Guare, Landscape of the Body
Does Oprah stagedoor? What's the show curtain like? What merch are they selling?

I hope this happens. I would see her for sure. And no matter which play she's in, it would be a guaranteed long run because of the sheer number of people who would want to see Oprah perform on Broadway.
Well thats where you're wrong. If it were ever to happen, I can't see it being any longer than a 12 week run. This is one of the busiest women in the world.
"Carson has combined his passion for helping children with his love for one of Cincinnati's favorite past times - cornhole - to create a unique and exciting event perfect for a corporate outing, entertaining clients or family fun."
Blerg. I kind of had my hopes set on a slave show and now I feel like a jerk even saying it because apparently it's uncool or whatever. Like "Oprah's Slave Show" where they cover you with wet paper spit balls at the end and ruin your only business suit and hairdid. That would've been great.
For Oprah to be on Broadway, it would essentially boil down to her agreeing to do 12 weeks of charity work because Broadway could never pay her and the whole thing would a be circus.
Sadly Oprah can't take a small show or a small part and just act. Whatever she does would become an event. Huge theatre, huge ticket prices, huge security and audience issues.
As previously stated, the woman is like a world leader at this point and can't take off 6 months to do a show.
I think she is a great actress and commits fully to her projects but the logistics would be a nightmare and getting a ticket would be an impossibility.
Its the same reason Babs can't return to Broadway. Too much hoopla.
